The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, F&I for AutoCanada, working as part of a greater team of trainers, you will be responsible for leading the F&I training initiatives of AutoCanada within your region with a continued focus of aligning the F&I training curriculum with the company’s vision and strategic goals.

You will play a crucial role in assisting the F&I department expand and grow our business by creating, delivering and supporting our Finance and Insurance associates; ultimately better positioning our teams to offer our clients expert advice while curating an exceptional service experience.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Vice President of F&I to facilitate a formal training curriculum for both new and experienced Financial Service Managers (FSM’s).
  • Deliver training using a variety of methods; including, providing training material, training aids and technical documents for in-person, telephonic and web-based training sessions and train-the-trainer workshops.
  • Assist in providing resources to support training initiatives that support a training program that facilitates the transfer of knowledge and drives a culture of learning at AutoCanada including: agendas, objectives, exams, course manuals and presentation material.
  • Be a subject matter expert as it relates to Industrial Alliance products.
  • Analyze each dealership’s performance reports and create a training plan, and schedule, to address identified opportunities for growth or improved performance.
  • Follow-up on performance of action plans with FSMs and dealership management as appropriate;
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Unifi 2.0.
  • Teach in a classroom setting, as well as one-on-one or in live customer situations;
  • Liase with other AutoCanada Training and Development Specialists across the country sharing best practices and business insights.
  • Liase with Finance Directors within your region including hosting monthly and/or quarterly Finance Director meetings focused on performance, strategy, and train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Attend external courses from time to time related to general training techniques (i.e. train-the-trainer) and/or F&I specific training.
  • Assist with general inquires related to F&I at the dealership level.
  • Ability to travel within the province one week per month is a must.
  • Travel outside of the province may be required approximately once per quarter.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Financial Service Manager.
  • Former training, education and or experience in the areas of: facilitation and adult education/learning principles, best practices and methodologies, specifically, individual learning styles.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiar with training, course design, development and evaluation.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of organizational training and development methodologies and adult learning principals including leadership, organizational effectiveness, curriculum / training design, coaching, business culture, change and succession management.
  • Experience in training delivery or strong facilitation, presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to influence.
  • Proven F&I averages and penetration rates, as well as consistently above average NPS/CSI scores.
  • Exceptional communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with a keen ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate progress).
  • Strong working knowledge of Industrial Alliance’s Unifi system would be considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Industrial Alliance’s suite of F&I products would be considered an asset.
  • Previously completed training courses/experience would be considered an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License and have a safe driving record.
  • Travel is a requirement of the role and could be up to 50% of the time depending on the “home base” location of the candidate.
